The capital’s high-speed hub

Ankara YHT Garı is the principal high-speed rail terminal in the capital and a key node for routes toward Istanbul, Eskişehir, Konya, Karaman, and Sivas. Read the full station name because Ankara also appears in conventional rail contexts.

Getting to the station

Plan from your actual starting point and consult current local transport information. The time needed depends on traffic, the selected entrance, luggage, and familiarity with the station rather than distance alone.

Inside the station

Keep the train number, departure time, ticket information, and required identification ready. Follow the live station display and staff instructions for the platform.

  • Check for last-minute platform information.
  • Allow time for entrance procedures.
  • Arrange onward transport separately when arriving.

Railway station versus bus terminal

The railway station and YHT complex should not be confused with AŞTİ, Ankara’s intercity bus terminal. If you are changing from a bus to a train, allow for the local transfer and the time needed to locate the correct station entrance. Follow your ticket and current operator directions for boarding.

If continuing to Cappadocia after a train to Ankara, the rail journey does not take you to Göreme. Check the onward bus destination and departure terminal and include a buffer between the two separate services. Travellers needing boarding assistance should contact the operator in advance with the date, train and assistance requirement.
